If I were a pond of muddy water,
And you were a drop of rain;
I wish that you,
Of all the drops would fall upon me
every time the life would rain.

And create inside me
these ripples of life,
piercing through the dirt
that has confined me,
in its endless darkness.

आज के ज़माने में अरण्यक बहुत ही प्राचीन सा नाम लगता है किन्तु वह नाम उसके लिए एकदम उपयुक्त था। उसके लिए ही क्यों, यह नाम मेरे, आपके और सभी के लिए उपयुक्त है। आज नहीं तो कल, हम सभी अरण्यक होंगे। लगभग तीस वर्ष पूर्व पूर्णिमा की एक रात को मैं छत पर टहल रहा था। बहती गंगा में पूर्ण चन्द्रमा का प्रतिबिम्ब ऐसा दिखाई पड़ रहा था, मानो कोई सफ़ेद कपड़ा किसी कंटीली झाडी में फँस कर रह गया है, और लहरों का पूरा ज़ोर भी उसे अपने साथ बहा ले जाने में अक्षम है। गंगा के पीछे, शिवालिक के घने जंगलों में, मंद-मंद बयार से पेड़ों के पत्तों के हिलने के अलावा और कोई ख़ास हलचल नहीं थी। अपने ही ख़्यालों में खोया हुआ मैं, चन्द्रमा के उस प्रतिबिम्ब को बड़ी देर से निहार रहा था कि अचानक मेरा ध्यान भंग हुआ। ऐसा लगा कि किसी जंगली जानवर ने उस पार से नदी में एक छलांग लगाई हो। चन्द्रमा के उस प्रतिबिम्ब पर मानो एक क्षणिक ग्रहण सा लगा,और तुरंत हट भी गया। मुझे आभास हो गया कि वह जो भी था, एक लम्बी छलांग में, नदी को पार कर, मेरे घर के पिछले आँगन में घुस चुका था। बिना देर किये मैं छत से नीचे उतर आया और दीवार पर सालों से टंग

There are times when I am completely lost, and all the roads seem have closed on me. I could find no one who would show me a way out, a way that I seek to walk, to find some light in the end. But then it is only the darkness that I get, and a deafening silence, that I follow till the end. The end, which is nowhere near. Though there are faces, who call me from the darkness, they want to be my friends, take my hand and lead me to the light, but such a recluse I am, that I ignore them, and I'm left alone with all my absurd thoughts and feelings. Why is he Different from me?

So, he was the best part of my life. All the troubles weren't his. But now he is different from me.He is so ignorant and happy. I know everything but don't know the reason for this sadness.He is so beautiful and I am so ugly. He doesn't care for any body but I am so jealous. I always see him laughing and giggling at me. He always tells me about what I was then and what I have become now.He always cries when he feels that I am hurting him, but honestly I never felt that I am doing so.I never used to think about him for so many years but my solitude always reminds me of himand whenever I see him crying for me I start crying myself.
